Current Reading list

I am one of those people who will order stacks of books at a time, and then try to read them all at the same time. With a full time 9-5 job, and a toddler running around, it can be hard to find the time to read. Except for right before bed and during my lunch hour at work. Hence, trying to read them all at the same time. I am also one of those girls who prefers the feel and smell of a book, rather than downloading it on to a Kindle or IPad. My husband loves all the boxes full of books when we have to move (laughs hysterically).
These are the books I am currently reading, and thoroughly enjoying...
From top to bottom...
Kiss of the Highlander-Karen Marie Moning : I've read this book probably a hundred times. It is one of my favorites (lets be honest, I am in love with the whole series, check it out here). It's one of my go to novels when I need a dose of romance, adventure and laughs. There's a scene (closer to the back so I won't divulge anything) that I've read more than the entire book itself. it makes me laugh and swoon all at the same time.
Air Bound-Christine Feehan : Haven't actually cracked this one open yet, but absolutely love all of the books in the Sea Haven series.
Mud Season-Ellen Stimson : Truly enjoying this one. Stimson and her family moved from a bustling metro to the beauty and quietness of Vermont. Chaos ensues. She has a very entertaining and down to earth way of writing, describing their adventures (and misadventures) in pursuing their dream.
The Cassoulet saved Our Marriage-Caroline Grant & Lisa Harper : This collection of stories is beautiful. Simple and wonderful. It is about our connections with food, with memories and how these all intermingle with our adult lives. I'm hooked. It also comes with various recipes with each story. one in particular that I will be breaking in my new Le Creuset soup pot with this weekend.
Accidental Farmers-Tim Young : I've only delved a couple of chapters in on this one, but am enjoying ti so far. It is the story of a super successful business man and his wife, and how they left the rat race, bought some land and started farming.
The War of Art-Steven Pressfield : Inspiration at it's finest.
Rurally Screwed-Jessie Knadler : The story of  New York girl, disenchanted with her current life, falling for the cowboy and a simpler way of life.
*Catching the theme yet? I'm a little obsessed with farm life (we live in an apartment at the moment) and the moment we get a yard, I'm getting chickens and any form of vegetable I can in to the ground. I'm also obsessed with love and romance. Have been since I was a kid.
Hands Free Mama-Rachel Macy Stafford : I've been having a hard time reading this one. Either from recognizing my own failures as a mother (already, but hey, who's perfect? all we can do is try our best) or from it being an emotional thing, most of the chapters make me cry at one point or another. But it helping me grow and become a better mother overall. I am reading this one slowly, at least one chapter per month and attempting to use each chapter (along with any previous) in my daily life with my family. Read her blog/website here. I check her website/blog regularly and follow her on facebook.
And lastly, Provence, 1970-Luke Barr : I am in love with this one. Literally. I am reading it slowly because I do not want it to end. It is the story of M. F. K. Fisher, The Child's, James Beard, The Beck's and Simone Beck all in Provence at a similar time. It is written by M. F.'s grand-nephew who certainly has her flair and talent for writing. It is a wonderful story, taken from journals and letters of M. F. K. Fishers.
My father is french and was a chef in another life (for over 30 years. You will hear much more about this in the future) and I devour anything about France and food.
The little yellow book there on the bottom is a journal of sorts. I'll share more about this book later. ;)

I hope you found something to your liking :)
